Morning Shade
Story No one is quite sure exactly where the upstart who calls himself Morning is from. The most plausible answer is that he is from himself; and has lived there 24/7 since he was born. At birth there was little for him, a farmer's son- his mother had died in childbirth. His two older brothers shortly were taken to the war and never returned, leaving a hard life on his shoulders. As a child he spent most of his life wrapped up in his own thoughts and reading over the expansive library of his neighbor. Despite seeming airy as a boy, things worked out well for him and he learned the importance of the hardworking individual- something his father had become proud of.
After years working on their farm, a wandering monk stumbled upon him, admired his spirit and convinced his father that the boy would prosper in his hands. The two set out to travel around the land and seek out the boy's destiny.
Many years later the name, a man famous for his stance on peace yet also always noted with his famed spear. It is rumored that he intends to stop the King of Qin from continuing his wars, though many are not sure how he will achieve this. Even still, this rumor alone has caused a commotion in the Qin court... For this he has become something of a hero among the rebel factions.
Style Simple and without any pretenses, he wears monkly robes, leaves his hair long and smooth and tries to make no waves with his existence. His spear, a mighty blade in its own right, is often a tool of deterrence and he considers his only true weapon to be his smile.
Depth A sharp wit yet reserved by nature, Morning is a bastion of the ideals of peace and Buddhism, which his master taught him well. That being said, he is a firm believer in the ethics of the land- and understands that violence, at times, may be a proper resort to look to. Still he takes no direct issue with those around him and simply works to help restore the land; which he feels is righteous. Because of his reserved qualities and views he is famous for never striking the first blow in battle.
Appearance From his years with the way of the Buddha, Morning has learned to embrace the simplicity of life and only wears the robes he carries on his back. They consist of a large, green yellow cover and a smaller, brown under garment. They are in every sense only there because of their efficient ability to protect him from the harsh conditions of the land (deserts, heat, storms, cold) yet because they are also loose and thus provide Morn the freedom to move. Notably as well, he is always seen- and thus almost famous for, the scarf he dawns around his neck. Red in a hubris way, Morning has since he left his father's farm, worn this long winding sliver of wool. Though perhaps a little warn and old, it was the only trinket of his mother, he ever had, and has relied on it to protect him since he could remember.
To defend himself, Morning carries a (shorter than normal) spear. It's a fine weapon that was indebted to him during his travels across China. A strong, yet bendable body and a power, sharp blade at its top make it a formidable weapon. Around the weapons neck is a small white plume. Though the weapon is often famous for what it has done, it is even more famous for what it hasn't; Morning has always been famously a proponent non-violent-discourse.
